Continuum Program Director
Urban Initiatives seeks a Continuum Program Director who is a strategic people manager and developer, organized team member, an effective communicator, and quick to discern opportunities for enhancing program quality and impact. The success of this role depends on an individual implementing effective systems for people management and data-driven decision-making. The Continuum Program Director will collaborate with the Chief Program Officer to guide the Continuum department in the development and execution of strategic plans to meet department goals and ensure the realization of the vision of Continuum programming.
The Continuum Program Director will support UI’s mission in Chicago by overseeing UI’s middle school (Take The Lead) and high school (Coach For Success) social-emotional learning (SEL) and leadership development programs. Specific functions include providing day-to-day management of continuum program manager roles (including performance management measures), reviewing specific program key performance indicators (e.g. number of youth reached, youth engagement and retention, increase and maintenance of program quality measures, etc.), directing continuous quality improvement strategies, developing program team culture and staff, and ensuring strong student and family relationships. This person will collaborate with other members of the leadership team to continually drive program quality and impact across the school, community, and corporate partnerships.
Oversee and execute the annual program implementation strategy and timeline, regularly tracking, assessing, and improving continuum program key performance indicators
Oversee the team of Program Managers who are each responsible for UI continuum of programming services with various cohorts of middle school and high school students to ensure program fidelity, quality, and impact
Develop a positive and cohesive program team culture that upholds UI’s mission and values
Manage consistency, collaboration, communication, and alignment across program management and program activities
Utilize program dashboards to support Program Managers in the development and deployment of quality improvement strategies
Make recommendations to other program leaders for curricular enhancements and staff booster training needs
Oversee all HR and personnel matters for program staff with support from the Chief Program Officer and Chief People Officer
Solicit and secure school, community, and corporate partnerships for UI’s Continuum programs as needed/directed
Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with consistent deadlines

Strategic-minded with demonstrated capacity to propose clear and thorough decisions
Willingness to work a flexible schedule with unconventional hours
$70,000 base salary

120 hours paid time off (PTO may be prorated based on start date)

Comp time for hours that exceed standard 40-hour workweek

Currently, Urban Initiatives serves an estimated 60 schools throughout the City of Chicago.

Our programs support social-emotional learning (SEL) and demand for these services is greater than ever. Maturing the administrative capacity of our fundraising team is critical to raise the funds necessary to accelerate our impact.
